Terms of Service

Your account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your country.

License to use the Service

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and your plan.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to create forged documents, signatures, or anything intended to deceive or defraud;
• present generated handwriting as a real assignment, exam, or other academic submission, or otherwise use it to misrepresent authorship;
• infringe others’ rights, or generate unlawful, harassing, or harmful content;
• submit to the AI writing feature any content that is confidential, personally identifiable, or that you do not have the right to process;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or circumvent usage limits or security of the Service;
• upload font files you do not have the right to use, store, or convert;
• resell or redistribute the Service itself or its bundled fonts as a standalone product.

You may use the Service to create clearly labeled mockups, classroom demonstrations, props, prototypes, and accessibility materials. Do not use generated pages to deceive a teacher, examiner, or other recipient about who wrote the work.

AI writing feature

The AI writing feature (“AI Writer”) is available on the Premium plan and uses a third-party large language model (LLM) via DeepSeek to generate text suggestions based on your prompts.

• No guarantee of accuracy. AI-generated text may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any output before use. Do not rely on AI Writer for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
• Your prompts are processed by a third party. Text you submit to AI Writer is sent to our LLM provider for processing. Do not enter sensitive, confidential, or personally identifiable information in prompts.
• Ownership of output. You own the text you generate using AI Writer, subject to any restrictions imposed by applicable law. You are responsible for ensuring that AI-generated content does not infringe third-party rights.
• No liability for AI output. Handwriting AI is not liable for any harm, loss, or legal claim arising from your use of or reliance on AI-generated content. The AI Writer is a writing aid, not a professional service.
• Service availability. AI Writer depends on third-party model availability and may be unavailable, rate-limited, or modified at any time without notice.

Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment provider, Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles billing, taxes, and invoicing. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prices may change with notice. One-time export packs are charged once and do not renew automatically. Purchased export credits do not expire, remain available if you later subscribe or cancel a subscription, and are used after monthly plan credits.

In the main editor and on handwriting, cursive, name, and letter tracing worksheets, 1 credit equals 1 downloaded page. Re-downloading the same page in the same session does not use another credit. Spelling packets use 1 credit per selected activity, not per PDF page. Answer-key pages included with those activities do not use extra credits. Preview is free. Saving a worksheet does not use credits.

Refunds

As payments are processed by Creem (Merchant of Record), refunds are handled according to Creem’s policy together with ours. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@handwriting-ai.com.

One-time export packs are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Export credits that have already been used cannot be restored.

Your content and the images you create

You retain ownership of the text you input and the handwriting images you export. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use that text. The handwriting fonts included in the Service are licensed under open-source font licenses (OFL / Apache 2.0) and may be used in your exported images for personal and commercial purposes.

Saved worksheets

If you save a practice worksheet or spelling packet, we store the worksheet name, settings, and the text you entered so you can reopen it. You retain ownership of that text. You are responsible for having the right to store any names or other content you save. Plan limits on the number of saved worksheets apply as described on the pricing page. Saving a worksheet does not use download credits. You can delete a saved worksheet from your account at any time. If you downgrade, worksheets already saved remain until you delete them, but you cannot save more than your current plan allows.

Custom handwriting fonts

You retain ownership of the handwriting samples you upload and of the custom fonts you generate from your own writing, subject to these Terms and applicable law. When you save a custom font, we store the related character images, metadata, and font files so you can use them in the Service according to your plan. If you upload an existing font file, you represent that you have the rights needed to upload and use it. Plan limits on saved fonts, letterform variants, and TTF download apply as described on the pricing page. Custom fonts you create are yours; that does not grant you rights to the Service software, branding, or bundled third-party fonts.

Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, generation engine, and branding, is owned by Handwriting AI and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or source code.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Handwriting AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above; continued use after changes means you accept them.
